If you liked The BFG, I think you’ll love Pete’s Dragon. The human characters are sweet and friendly and even the “bad guy” isn’t so bad in the end. There might be a few startling moments for some kids, but I think The Jungle Book was more dramatic. The beginning might make you a little bit teary eyed, but only for a moment, as all Disney movies seem to start with a back story that has heart string pulling ideas. I think Pete’s Dragon is appropriate for all ages. We LOVE Pete’s Dragon – it’s a great Disney film. And again, Disney has produced a top notch renewal of a well loved story! I’ve seen Elliot, the dragon, in the Electrical parade at both Disneyland and Disney World. I love the animated version when I was a kid but hadn’t seen it in years. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this movie. Plan to see this new Disney movie this weekend and make sure to view the 3D version, it’s fantastic! It’s a perfect family film, the story is wonderful and there’s enough action and entertainment to keep everyone involved.
